Although side effects from Prevacid are not common, they can occur. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

  • Upset stomach
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Stomach pain
  • Dizziness
  • Headache

If you have any of the following symptoms, stop taking Prevacid and call your doctor immediately:

  • Rash or hives
  • Itching
  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing

Other side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to Prevacid. Check with your doctor if any side effects continue or are bothersome.
